Mother, baby killed in midnight Kennedy fire tragedy

A mother and her one-year-old baby have died in
a fire at the Kennedy Road Informal Settlement in Durban.

It is unclear what led to the blaze, which officials say broke out after Saturday midnight.
The Gift of the Givers attended to the fire in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The humanitarian group is onsite arranging relief for victims.

KwaZulu-Natal spokesperson, Bilaal Jeewa says between 70 and 100 informal structures have burned down.
"Thus far, we have provided them with tea bags and bread and peanut butter, etc., with some pennies because it's a cold wet morning here in Durban.
