"There level of Umdloti river will rise rapidly as a result of releases from Hazelmere Dam.

The releases are extremely important, because if we do not release water from the dam now, the wall that is being constructed will topple over, causing significant damage and a threat to life and property.

"So, therefore, we are appealing to please stay away from the river. Do not cross it and do not attempt to go anywhere near it".
