Learners are unhappy with the suspension handed down to a pupil believed to have orchestrated previous protests over alleged racism at the school.

Police officers say burning tyres were thrown over the school fence.

Two people were arrested for carrying petrol.

Teacher's Union, Naptosa's Therona Moodley says teachers are ready to head back to the classroom when normality is restored.

"It's apparent that learners have sprayed pepper spray into classrooms to get learners to run out. They are also gathering tyres that have been lying around the school. There have been messages on social media this weekend - inciting this kind of protest action. However, teachers are ready to teach. Naptosa is concerned because trial exams start at any time," she says.
