Mooi River missing couple now kidnapping case

Hawks officials in KZN have confirmed an elderly couple's missing persons case has now been changed to a kidnapping.
Tony Dinus, 80, and his 75-year-old wife Jill were last seen at their home near Mooi River on the 27th August.
Their family reported them missing, after they found the couple's cottage in Middlerus locked, but their vehicle still on the property.

Hawks KZN spokesperson Simphiwe Mhlongo says the family's received a ransom demand.
"After they went missing, it was suspicious that they were just missing and then it was reported as a missing person [case].
"Then one of the relatives claimed that he received a message, demanding a ransom. As a result it was change from a person[case] to a kidnapping."
