Mobeni Heights Crematorium back in service after years of operational issues
Updated | By Nothando Mkhize
After a years-long wait, the Mobeni Heights Crematorium in Chatsworth is up and running, again.

eThekwini Municipality's Msawakhe Mayisela said the City is excited about this, "We are hard at work to ensure that the other furnace is back on track. So the public is free to come and use the facility."
eThekwini's installed a new, state-of-the-art furnace from the US, worth three and a half million rand.
Grieving families have for years been forced to cremate their loved ones elsewhere when a second furnace broke down in 2017. The city's Msawakhe Mayisela said the facility is fully digital and can be monitored electronically by its manufactures abroad.

He said the new technology is going to go a long way in assisting the manufacturers to pick up any technical threats to its functional ability and act accordingly.
"We thank the residents for bearing the brunt of the malfunctioning of this facility. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience," said Mayisela.
