MK Vets: We did not torch foreign-owned shops in Durban CBD
Updated | By Nomfundo Ngcobo
MK vets have denied any involvement in the looting and torching of foreign-owned shops in the Durban CBD.
A group attacked stores and informal traders stalls yesterday morning.
It's understood they threatened owners who are foreign nationals and ordered them to shut their shops.
Members of the Umkhonto we Sizwe Military Veterans Association say they did plan a march yesterday from King Dinuzulu Park to City Hall to hand over a memorandum.

But member, Zibuse Cele says they had nothing to do with the violence.
He says their march was calling for speedy resolutions on issues the association has raised with the ANC leadership.
"We went down to submit our memorandum to the KZN Premier. Unfortunately, he was not there. But the Advisor to the Premier, Nhlanhla Ngidi took the memorandum. After that, we dispersed."
