Millions confiscated from Markus Jooste's ‘girlfriend’
Updated | By Bulletin
The South African Reserve Bank has confiscated R42 million in cash and property worth R18 million from Markus Jooste's alleged former lover.

The assets were frozen three years ago amid the Steinhoff accounting scandal.
Jooste was the CEO of the global retail giant.
Berdine Odendaal allegedly received an R60 million loan from a company linked to Jooste.
The seized funds and property will be deposited into the state's National Revenue Fund.
The bank previously froze Jooste's assets, including a family trust worth over a billion rand.
Jooste died last month from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, days before he was due to appear in court in connection with the Steinhoff accounting scandal.
