Durban Metro Police are mourning the loss of one of their own.
A man, who was stabbed and killed in Montclair, was an Acting Captain with the city's police force.
Spokesperson, Parbhoo Sewpersad says Dumisani Zondi had been stationed at Albert Park.
He says the Captain, who was training at the Montclair Park last night, saw a group of men drinking in public.
"He approached them to inform them that drinking is it not allowed and it is alleged that an altercation broke out," said Sewpersad.
"He was stabbed once but it was a fatal wound. Paramedics tried to revive him and could not."
