Medical litigation a challenge in SA's healthcare sector: Motsoaledi

The Health Minister, Aaron Motsoaledi has today opened the World Hospital Congress being hosted by the International Hospital Federation at the Durban ICC.
Speaking at the event, the Minister says the growing number of medical lawsuits is one of the biggest threats to sustainable improvement of healthcare.

Motsoaledi says the rising rates of medico-legal litigation in both public and private sector worldwide suggests the need for a review of in-service standards at facilities, administrative processes and legal reform.
