Mchunu condemns surge in Western Cape mass killing
Updated | By Newswatch
Police Minister Senzo Mchunu says he is
concerned about the rising number of mass killings in the Western Cape.

On Saturday morning, seven men were gunned down in a residence in the Kanana informal settlement in Gugulethu.
Preliminary reports suggest the men were ambushed while socialising.
Saturday's incident is not the only mass killing to occur in the province this week.
On Tuesday, police discovered three bodies in the C Section of the Samora Machel informal settlement.

On Thursday, three people were killed in a shooting incident in Nyanga during an apparent hijacking.
In a statement on Saturday, Minister Mchunu condemned the incidents, saying they shouldn't be treated as a normal trend.
He says it's for this reason that Operation Shanela 2 was launched in Cape Town this week with an aim to tackle crime hotspots in all provinces.
The Minister has urged Police Commissioner Fannie Masemola to activate all resources to confront criminality.
