Ntlemeza reported for work on Monday, despite being replaced by Mbalula. He was shown the door following a ruling by the High Court in Pretoria, declaring him unfit for the position.

Speaking in Pretoria, Mbalula made it clear that Ntlemeza is finding himself on the wrong side of the law.

“Ntlemeza is not entitled to report for duty or to exercise any powers or duties afforded to the head of the Hawks until the SCA (Supreme Court of Appeal in Bloemfontein) reverses the full court order. His attempt to enter the Hawks offices is considered unlawful and will be acted upon decisively. General (Yolisa) Matakata will remain in her role as the acting head of the Hawks”.

Mbalula says he was informed that Ntlemeza entered a management meeting, demanding work car and a cell phone.

“We have been informed General Ntlemeza entered the management meeting of the Hawks and ordered the head of supply chain to give him a car and he has the cell phone that belongs to government with him, wherever he is. I have communicated with General Phahlane that must be found and brought back to the state and all shall be in order. Should anybody enter this premises in whatever guise, it is illegal and that person must be arrested with immediate affect.”

Mbalula says he has explained to Phahlane what the implications would be, should he refuse to take action against Ntlemeza.
