Marches for and against motion of no confidence

Marches that will be held countrywide - ahead of and during the motion of no confidence in President Jacob Zuma.

Members of Parliament will be voting in the National Assembly tomorrow afternoon.  

Parliamentary Speaker, Baleka Mbete will this afternoon announce her decision on whether or not a secret ballot will be used in the motion of no confidence in President Zuma. 

Political parties submitted their reasons for or against the use of a secret ballot last month with  

Marches in support of the motion have been planned by the City of Cape Town tomorrow. 

In KZN, a march against the motion will take place. It's being organised by the ANC's KwaDukuza branch. 

The DA will be addressing crowds at the Crusaders Sports Club, in Durban.

Western Cape

The Organisation Undoing Tax Abuse (OUTA), United Behind, the DA and other groups will converge at 10:30am on Keizersgracht Street. The march will proceed to and will end outside Parliament in St John’s Street. 


KZN 

The DA will host a rally at the Crusaders Sports Club at 11.30am. KZN Provincial leader, Zwakele Mncwango will be the main speaker. 

The Active Citizens Movement will host a two-hour interfaith  event at The Kendra Hall in Berea. 

The ANC KZN will host a march against the motion in SADTU Park in KwaDukuza, commencing at 9am. 


Gauteng 

Makashule Gana MPL, DA Gauteng Spokesperson for Co-operative Governance, will be the main speaker at Eldorado Park Stadium in Johannesburg. This begins at 11 am.
