Manhunt after botched CIT heist on N2 near Umlazi

A police manhunt is underway for six gunmen following a botched cash-in-transit heist in uMlazi, south of Durban

It's understood the group opened fire on the cash vehicle on the N2, near Lamontville this week.
Provincial SAPS spokesperson, Robert Netshiunda, says two security guards who managed to escape, suffered gunshot wounds.

"Police are investigating a case of attempted cash in transit robbery that took place on Wednesday. A group of suspect attempted to rob a cash delivery vehicle.
"It is reported that suspects shot the cash vehicle and the driver did not stop until he drove into a shopping mall."
