Mandeni to tackle service delivery backlog

Mayor Siphesihle Zulu says the current set-up is unable to cater for a large community.

Minister in the Presidency, Jeff Radebe led a Service Delivery Imbizo in the area yesterday, following recent protest action.

Residents told officials the offices were failing them. Zulu says the offices, along with Social Development, will be housed under one new roof.

"Social Development has started and as I speak the construction is completed.

"Next week we are expecting the MEC for Social Development to come and officially open the offices but we are also looking at the commitment of others like Home Affairs and Sassa" he said.
