Man, toddler killed in Phoenix house fire
A man and his two-year-old grandson have tragically burned to death in a house fire in the north of Durban.
The blaze broke out at the home in Phoenix this morning.
Neighbours called emergency services after seeing flames and smoke coming out of the property.
Reaction Unit South Africa's Vinod Singh says the victims bodies were found in the kitchen.
"On arrival on the scene, eThekwini Fire and Rescue Services were damping the place. Residents attempted to rescue the elderly man and the child; however, the heat from the fire was extensive. The scene is still active and authorities will investigate further."
