Man shot dead in Redcliffe ambush

A manhunt has been launched for the gunmen who shot and killed a motorist in Redcliffe, north of Durban.

Officials say three people were ambushed along Quarry Road in the Umhlasini area on Thursday night.
It's understood that the suspects opened fire while walking towards their car, before fleeing on foot.
The 51-year-old driver died on the scene.

KZN police spokesperson Thenjiswa Ngcobo says the two passengers were wounded and taken to the hospital.
"Verulam police have opened a case of murder and two of attempted murder following an incident in which three people were allegedly attacked while in the vehicle on 3 July 2025. The motive for the killing is unknown."
