Paramedics say a man believed to be in his forties was shot multiple times on Sunday.

The victim is understood to have had an altercation with another motorist.

"Paramedics arrived on the scene to find SAPS already in attendance with the area cornered off. Paramedics were shown to a male lying next to his SUV," says ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson.

"They found a male, believed to be in his forties, who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body. He was assessed on the scene; however, his injuries were fatal, and there was nothing paramedics could do for him, and he was declared deceased on the scene.

"It is alleged that there was an altercation between two drivers which led up to the shooting. However, SAPS were in attendance and will be investigating further."
