Man killed after building partially collapses in Durban CBD

A man has been killed after part of a building collapsed on him in Durban central.
The man, believed to be in his 40s, is thought to have been part of a team that had been busy demolishing the building this morning when it caved in.
Paramedics and fire services worked to remove the rubble in order to free the man.

ER24 spokesperson, Russel Meiring says the man's fellow workers were left in shock when the incident occurred.
Meiring says it took emergency services quite a while to recover his body which was buried in the rubble.
"After some time, the man was unfortunately found that he had succumbed to his multiple injuries. Nothing more could be done for him and he was then declared dead on scene. Local authorities will be investigating the matter further," he said.
