Two people have been killed by lightning strikes in KwaZulu-Natal.

Local government officials say one of them was a grade 4 learner from Ofafa near Ixopo.
KZN Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs spokesperson Senzo Mzila says the child was struck on Monday.
"The reports received by the department indicate that the learner was part of a group that was on their way to school at Lufafa Primary School when the incident occurred. In the incident, 10-year-old Nhlanzeko Mthembu sadly lost his life."
Mzila says the second victim, 45-year-old Muziwenkosi Phungula, was struck by lightning at his home in Gobhogobho in Dr Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma Municipality.
Parts of the province have been lashed by rains this week, which have also damaged property.
Mzila says disaster management teams are continuing with mop-up operations.
