Maidens killed in deadly taxi crash laid to rest

The families of two maidens, burnt to death in a Midlands crash say they were able to get some closure when they laid their children to rest this past weekend.

Six maidens died in the taxi crash near Greytown in August.

The families of 15-year-old Thembeka Myeza and 16-year-old Asanda Buthelezi had to wait to bury them as DNA test results were still outstanding.
Their funerals were held in Dundee on Sunday.
Myeka's uncle, Sipho says the wait was long and painful.

Myeza says the support from the KZN community and local government has been overwhelming.
He also says they will continue motivating their children to participate in the maiden culture as this was nothing but a misfortune.
