Magashule, co-accused to return to court in October

Suspended African National Congress (ANC) secretary-general Ace Magashule and his co-accused will return to the Bloemfontein High Court in October.
Magashule and 15 of his co-accused, including businessman Edward Sodi, made a brief appearance in court on Wednesday.
The matter relates to the R255 million asbestos roof removal contract in the Free State during Magashule’s time as premier of the province.
They are facing charges of fraud, corruption and money laundering.
Judge Cagney Musi ordered the accused to be back in court on 19 October.
“The matter is then postponed to 19 October 2021. All the accused are on bail except for the jurisdiction persons. All the accused are then in this court again at 9am on that day.”

Among those is attendance were suspended ANC members as well the spokesperson of the now disbanded uMkhonto weSizwe Military Veterans Association (MKMVA) Carl Niehaus.
