Updated | By Anastasi Mokgobu
Justice Mbuyiseli Madlanga will brief the media on Monday on the newly established commission of inquiry into allegations made by KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi.

Madlanga has been appointed chairperson of the inquiry, recently announced by President Cyril Ramaphosa.
It will begin its work once Madlanga officially steps down from the Constitutional Court on Thursday.

The commission will look into the alleged infiltration of criminal syndicate into the law enforcement and intelligence agencies.
It'll also investigate whether politicians, prosecutors, and other officials enabled or ignored criminal activity and whether existing laws and oversight mechanisms are strong enough to stop it.

The inquiry will also investigate whether any member of the national executive were complicit or participated in any criminal activity.
An interim report is expected within six months with the final report to go to Parliament and the Chief Justice.
