Updated | By ECR Newswatch
The man accused of raping and murdering UCT student Uyinene Mrwetyana has been handed three life sentences.

Luyanda Botha pleaded guilty to two counts of rape and one of murder in the Western Cape High Court on Friday morning, when he appeared for his pre-trial hearing.
He has been handed a further five years for defeating the ends of justice.
The 42-year-old former post office employee killed 19-year-old Mrwetyana inside a Cape Town post office in August.
During sentencing, Judge Salie Hlophe said she can't imagine what Mrwetyana's family had been through, but hopes they will be able to find closure now that her killer is being locked away.
