LOOK: Snow falls on the Berg
Updated | By Lauren Hendricks
Snow has fallen on the Berg on Wednesday.

Lodge owners in the area say it will likely lead to a cold and snowy winter.
"This is our first snowfall of this season. The current temperature now is 11°C. It went down to about 7°C last night. Obviously, a lot colder up in Lesotho and then on the higher peaks of the Drakensberg, but we obviously still getting the rain, and if it continues like this, I'm sure we'll have quite a cold, snowy winter,” says Wayne Chislett, co-owner of Aspen Villa in Southern Drakensberg.
According to Snow Report SA, snow blanketed parts of Lesotho and the Drakensberg overnight.
Temperatures have dropped sharply following heavy rains across KwaZulu-Natal.

An orange level 5 warning was issued on Wednesday morning for disruptive rainfall in the southeastern parts of the province.
Chislett shared photos online of the mountains covered in thick clouds and snow.

He says a nearby river has swollen from the rain — and snow is still clearly visible on the mountain peaks.
"Where Aspen Villia is located, we on the Drakensberg Gardens Road, are very fortunate. We've got a beautiful view from basically Bushman's Nek right through to Sani Pass, so you see all the peaks of the Drakensberg.
"The higher peaks obviously got Eastern snowfall. The lower peaks, obviously nothing happened there. I think it's just kind of a precedent of what's to come for this following winter."
