More people have been murdered in Umlazi's Q Section.
Since September, members of the South African Police Service have been attending to calls related to murder in the township, south of Durban.
The community believes the killings are being committed by a group of robbers who carry R5 rifles.
Two men were shot after being robbed of their cellphones and shoes on Saturday night.
One of the victims died at the scene, while the second man was rushed to hospital.
The three murders and eight attempted murders have all occurred in areas within walking distance of each other within the township.
