LISTEN: Social Dev Minister focuses on food parcel corruption
Updated | By Nothando Mkhize
Social Development Minister, Lindiwe Zulu says her department's tightening security systems to give corruption the boot, as they continue distributing food parcels to those hard hit by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Some councillors had been accused earlier this year of looting parcels meant for poor families.
In an exclusive interview with Newswatch, Zulu says these crimes won't be tolerated.

"We don't distribute food parcels through councillors or any political person."
"We have a system of SASSA and Social Development that does that. We also look at how else we can improve the system, so it does not end up being abused. We need to create something that is watertight," she said.
The Minister's in Durban today as the department concludes its 10-day walk against Gender-Based Violence and Femicide. She's joining activist movement Mzansi ACT Now.
