KwaZulu-Natal's police commissioner has warned against politicising farm attacks, saying this doesn't help efforts to win the fight.

KwaZulu-Natal's police commissioner has warned against politicising farm attacks, saying this doesn't help efforts to win the fight.
There have been calls for these attacks to be treated as hate crimes.
Commissioner Khombinkosi Jula and Community Safety MEC Bheki Ntuli on Thursday presented strategies to tackles various crimes in the province.

Ntuli has said in some cases - farm attacks are triggered by the ill-treatment of workers as opposed being driven by prejudice or hate.
Jula says the public needs to understand the aim of the policing and justice system is to deal with the physical crime committed in a fair and just manner.
The Community Safety Department says it's bringing volunteers on board to ramp up security at the province's farms following a recent spate of attacks.
