She was frogmarched out of a voting station by an Eastern Cape police officer on Monday, following complaints that she'd been canvassing there.

She subsequently opened a case of assault against the officer after she was dragged out of Fernwood Primary School voting station in Bethelsdorp.

The IEC's Glen Mashinini says they were still waiting for information on Monday night.

"Is the commission aware of the alleged frog-marching of madam Zille? At this stage, we hadn't received that information, but certainly, I think in due course, we will find out."

The commission has rejected suggestions of large-scale problems with its Voter Management Devices.

Several glitches were reported at a number of voting stations across the country.

The machines were first used during the voter registration weekend in September.
