Schooling in Vuwani was disrupted in May with nearly 30 schools torched during demarcation protests.

Provincial education department spokesperson Naledzani Rasila says the catch-up programme in Vuwani was successful.

“We’ve managed to get pupils ready for exams so they can write at the same time as all other learners in the country,” he says.

In 2015, the Life Sciences question paper 2 was leaked in Limpopo and distributed to pupils in Gauteng and Mpumalanga.

Rasila says measures have been put in place to ensure there are no exam paper leaks.

“We have revamped our central examination centre and we are sure there will no leaks,” he assures.

Last month, basic education minister Angie Motshekga said stringent security measures have been implemented to ensure there is no exam leak.

"All storage points across the country will be audited to ensure they meet the minimum security standards. Storage points which do not comply will not be allowed to store exam papers," Motshekga confirmed.
