KZN Youth Parliament highlights issues affecting young people

KZN's Youth Parliament has highlighted unemployment, crime, access to healthcare and economic participation as some of the major challenges affecting young people in the province.
Many of them gathered at Ndwendwe Regional Sports Ground over the weekend to air their concerns and debate issues.
Brumelda Zuma's called for urgent police intervention at the University of Zululand.
She says students at accommodation off-campus are being targeted by criminals.

"We discovered that the area that the university is situated does not have police station so we are saying can the relevant departments make sure that there s a police station. But since that is a process here is a solution, there is a satellite police station and patrol."
Silindile Gutshwa says young people's spirits are being crippled by the slow response to unemployment issues.
"The issue of unemployment rate has affected the youth and most of them have given up on life. What are the resolutions by the province to deal with unemployment."
