KZN vows action against officials implicated in blanket fraud
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
The KZN Social Development Department says action will be taken against officials found to be implicated in the R20 million blanket fraud saga.
A forensic report raised the alarm on the fraudulent procurement of blankets for the homeless during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020.
The report also found that around 12 officials from the department were involved and called for action to be taken.
The department's MEC Nonhlanhla Khoza says they are being guided by an internal investigation into the matter.

"If there are any allegations of that corruption we are going to deal with it but we going to root out the corruption in the department that's what I can promise."
