The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Transport has
confirmed that the death toll from Tuesday morning's R34 crash near Vryheid in
northern KZN has been revised down from 12 to 10.

They were killed after a truck side-swiped a bus carrying dozens of passengers.
Around 20 other people were left injured and taken to local hospitals.
The department said it is making every effort to reach out to family members.

However, department spokesperson Ndabezinhle Sibiya said they are still waiting for a report from the Road Traffic Inspectorate.
"The MEC indicated that once he gets a full report from the SAPS as well as the Road Traffic Inspectorate, he will be able to address members of the media," said Sibiya.
Sibiya warned that the number of fatalities could still increase.
