KZN storm knocks out power in several areas
Updated | By Tsakane Mhlongo
Many homes and businesses were without power following Tuesday night's heavy rains in KwaZulu-Natal.

Durban's Ward 24 councillor, Sanelisiwe Chebure, says Westville is among the affected areas.
"It seems like a wide area outage that is affecting a number of substations in the area."
She says eThekwini's told them that teams are assessing a fault at a substation.

Pinetown, Reservoir Hills, Clermont, Kloof, Blair Atholl, Pineside, Underwood Road are affected.
The municipality is expected to provide an update on the impact of the heavy rains at midday on Thursday.
Meanwhile, Chebure gave residents affected by the outage this advice.
"We are urging residents to turn off all appliances as the power outage will need to be put back in stages. It will help in balancing the load."
