KZN police officer jailed for killing husband

A KwaZulu-Natal police officer and her accomplice have begun
serving various prison terms for the murder of two people, including her
husband.

Sergeant Ntombizodwa Ntinga and Samkelo Mpanza were sentenced at the Mtubatuba High Court this week.
KZN Hawks spokesperson, Simphiwe Mhlongo says they have been charged for kidnapping, robbery and murder for a crime committed in August 2023.
"The warrant officer Nkosinathi Ntinga was at his house at Phathane area near KwaMbonambi with Mr. Mpendulo Mdluli and the accused number one in this matter, his wife.
"Mpanza and his accomplice entered the house at gunpoint, they robbed them of their cell phones and took two service pistols for warrant officer Ntinga, as well as accused number one Ntombizodwa Ntinga .
"And they left the crime scene with warrant officer Ntinga and Mdluli.
After abducting the pair, the suspects assaulted them before pushing the officer's friend out of the moving car.

Days later, warrant officer Ntinga's body was found near a river in uMfolozi with multiple gunshot wounds.
After investigations, police arrested Mpanza and the officer's wife, Seargent Ntinga.
They were both given life imprisonment for murder.
