KZN police mourn officer killed in line of duty
A K9 unit member has succumbed to his stab wounds after two days in hospital.
Spokesperson, Thulani Zwane says 45-year-old Warrant Officer, Sascha Naidoo, who had been with the Newcastle K9 unit was stabbed with a spear in the line of duty on Tuesday.
The police officer was attending to a complaint of assault in the Madadeni area.

Zwane says Naidoo died of his injuries last night in hospital.
"He was trying to arrest the suspect. It is alleged that the suspect stabbed the police officer and was immediately arrested. He was later charged for murder and appeared in the Madadeni Magistrate's Court. The case has been remanded for further investigation," he said.
