An elderly woman's in a serious but stable condition in hospital after she was bitten by a snake in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands.
Paramedics were called to the scene - in the Dargle Valley area - at around midday yesterday.
"When medics arrived on scene - they found a resident had been bitten by a snake. It's still unknown what snake it was. Advance life support intervention was performed on her before being transported to Lie Hilton Hospital for further care," Midlands EMS spokesperson Derrick Banks said.
Banks says she is in a stable condition now in ICU.
