KwaZulu-Natal has four new mobile police stations.

Premier Thami Ntuli officially handed over the units to the police on Tuesday, saying it signals a serious commitment to improving safety and policing in high-risk areas.
They were procured by the Department of Community Safety, with each mobile unit said to have cost over R1.7 million.
Ntuli says the mobile stations will be deployed to crime hotspots including Bulwer, KwaMakhutha, Inanda, and KwaMbonambi.
" We want to be practical as the KwaZulu-Natal government when we talk about fighting crime by providing support to the police, which is not only oral support, but also in terms of the resources.

“Previously, we gave them more than 30 cars and now we have given them more four mobile police stations, of which the police will determine when they'll be moved to the designated areas."
KZN deputy police commissioner Phumelele Makhoba has urged communities to look after the units.
" These resources are meant to serve you as members of the community served by members of the SAPS. If you see that these vehicles are now doing something else other than rendering services to yourself, you have to then report it to the necessary structures."
