KZN Education officials to investigate matric awards bungle up
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
The KZN Department of Education is investigating a case where three of KZN's top 10 matric students were not informed of their awards or invited to the prestigious mayoral awards ceremony where top achievers were honoured on Friday.
Delano Ramdas, who ranked 7th in KZN, was unaware of his award as he was not invited to attend the provincial awards that were held earlier this month.
He is now upset that he and two of his peers from Greenbury Secondary School were overlooked. The Departments Muzi Mlambi says it is the first time that top achievers were omitted from the list of invitees.
"We are investigating and looking into what level did communication break so that we investigate further and see how we fix the matter," he said.
