KZN Education abiding by court ruling on religion
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
KZN education officials say they've accepted and have been upholding by a high court ruling on religion in public schools.

A number of schools, around the country, are being challenged to adhere to the Gauteng court's judgement.
It ruled last month that schools cannot promote one religion while excluding others.
The Organisation for Religious Education and Democracy took the case to court, arguing that religious bias in South African public schools, place some pupils at a disadvantage.

KZN Education's Scelo Khuzwayo says their position was never to challenge the court's findings.
"The department of Education in KZN has always been clear that there's no religion that is supreme and more important than the other. All the religions are at the same level and learners should be treated as such," he says.
