A northern KwaZulu-Natal man will spend the next 15 years in jail for drug dealing.

Mduduzi Kunene (57) was caught hiding in a dog kennel during a 2023 police raid at a house in Madadeni.
He was found in possession of Mandrax tablets worth R112,000.
At the time, Kunene denied the charges, claiming police had planted the drugs.

KZN NPA spokesperson Natasha Kara says evidence discovered in the drainpipes and kennel of the house where he was hiding led to his conviction in court.
"In total, police found 1851 full Mandrax tablets, 38 half Mandrax tablets, and approximately R1 300 in cash. Kunene was arrested and charged with dealing in drugs. Kunene was sentenced accordingly and the court declared him unfit to possess a firearm."
