KZN disaster officials still on high alert
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Disaster management officials are trying to assess how much damage was caused by Friday’s heavy downpour in parts of KZN.
The SA Weather Service issued a 'watch' for severe storms over the western interior. Lennox Mabaso, who is with the Co-operative Governance department in the province, says so far they have not been made aware of any major incidents but their teams remain on high alert.
"We are urging all citizens to exercise vigilance during these weather conditions experienced so that they do not find themselves in any kind of risk or danger.
"We are aware that rains still continue in many parts of the province, especially in areas like Umzimkhulu, Kokstad and Richards Bay and Durban as well as some parts of the Midlands.
