A police officer who was killed in a shootout with suspects
in the north of Durban will be laid to rest on Sunday.
Warrant Officer Sthembiso Mazibuko and his team had closed in on the group at a home in Ntuzuma on Tuesday.
The officers moved in after learning that one of them was a wanted suspect.
The group opened fire on police, killing Mazibuko and injuring another officer.

Four people, including the most wanted suspect were killed. He was wanted in connection with the murders of 12 people.
Police Minister Bheki Cele will be at the funeral in KwaMashu.
“Police Minister, General Bheki Cele, will join the SAPS family together with the management of the SAPS, led by National Commissioner, General Fannie Masemola, to pay their last respects to the fallen officer.
“Minister Cele will deliver the eulogy at the funeral service where he is expected to reflect on police safety and the scourge of police killings in the country.”
