A powerful cold front is expected this week,
with icy temperatures expected to sweep through most parts of the country,
including KwaZulu-Natal.

KZN Cooperative Governance Department said disaster management teams are on high alert and ready to respond to weather-related incidents.
Cogta spokesperson Senzelwe Mzila said two cold fronts have been forecast to move in over the coming days.
"Two cold fronts will bring challenging weather conditions to large parts of the country with cooler temperatures anticipated," he said.

Mzila has urged residents to stay vigilant and pay close attention to official weather alerts.
