In one of the latest incidents a man was killed after his bakkie rolled on the N2 near Scottburgh yesterday afternoon.  A pedestrian was also struck by a vehicle while trying to cross Umgeni Road in the vicinity of Alpine Road.

A man died yesterday morning after reportedly losing control of his motorbike on the Amajuba Pass near Newcastle in northern KZN.

ER24's Werner Vermaak says he then crashed into an oncoming bakkie.

"Paramedics arrived at the accident scene and found the motorbike into two pieces. One half of the bike was found lying under the bakkie.

"Two occupants inside the bakkie were standing close to the vehicle clearly in shock but had sustained no critical injuries. In the middle of the road paramedics found the motorbike rider with fatal injuries, " he said.

Meanwhile, a man is fighting for his life after falling from Durban's Umgeni Road interchange yesterday.

The circumstances behind the incident and what lead the man to fall are still unknown.
