The family of slain MUT lecturer Chanlall
Dwarika says the sentencing of the men behind his murder is a small victory
compared to their loss.

The 61-year-old was abducted in June 2023 outside a property he was renovating in Sea Cow Lake.
On Thursday, the Durban High Court sentenced Thobani Mhlongo and Kwanele Makhaye to life imprisonment for Dwarika's murder.
They were found guilty of kidnapping, robbery, and murder on Wednesday.
Their co-accused, Siyabonga Mahaye, was handed an effective 20-year term for kidnapping and robbery, while a fourth person was acquitted.

The slain lecturer's daughter, Ayuushi Dwarika-Rajbansi said the trial took a toll on the family.
"We accept the judge's ruling. We think it's fair. It does give us some sort of comfort knowing that these perpetrators have been caught and are held accountable for their actions," said Dwarika-Rajbansi.
"It's mixed emotions. This week was quite heavy for us, emotional for us as well.
"The justice system did prevail. We have to give thanks to the SAPS unit, the Reaction unit, and the state advocate who represented us."
