Justice Dept. shuts Master's offices to probe allegations of corruption

The Ministry of Justice and Correctional Services has shut down all offices of the Master of the High Court.

Members of the Hawks are conducting a countrywide probe into allegations of maladministration, corruption and fraud - with search and seizure operations underway. 


Department spokesperson, Crispin Phiri says the Masters' Offices will be closed today to allow the Hawks to continue their investigations.

"We do apologise for the inconvenience that might ensue to members of the public who had the intention to visit these courts today."


"The intention of shutting down the courts stem from the fact that there's a great deal of corruption that may be uncovered in most of the mater's courts across the country and therefor an investigation by the SIU is warranted," he says.
