Isipingo man killed by ‘youngsters coming from party’

Security officials say an Isipingo man was
killed outside his home by two gunmen.

Sherwyne Thompson was gunned down in Lotus Park on Sunday.
City South Security employed him as a Tactical Team Member.
Aidan David, who is from the eThekwini District Police Board, said Thompson was killed in the presence of his family.
He said the shooters were allegedly known to him.

"These youngsters came from a party, and they were calling out loudly the name of a person from that building. This gentleman who passed on opened the window, and he told them, ‘Please keep it down’," David explained.
"And then these youngsters started swearing at the guy. Then, the guy came down to calm them down and to get some peace in the area.
"While this was happening, he turned around, and as he was walking away, they shot him eight times in the back.
Police are investigating a case of murder.
