Improvement called from Greenwood Park residents
Updated | By Noxolo Miya
Residents in Greenwood Park are calling on the eThekwini Municipality to improve its response time for major faults.
On Friday, community members reported a burst pipe shooting water several meters into the air on Park Station Road.
Chairperson for the Ward 34 Ratepayers & Residents Association, Andrew Akkers, says it took the municipality nearly 24 hours to locate the valve to stop this major leak.
"Turnaround times are too long in attending to major leaks. Thousands of kilolitres have been wasted in the process. There was a contractor standing by to start the job, but he couldn't do anything."
