IFP supporters gather in Ulundi for 50th birthday rally
Inkatha Freedom Party supporters from across the country
will descend on Ulundi in northern KZN on Sunday for the party's 50th
Anniversary celebrations.
"Today is a momentous day for the IFP, as we reflect on a long journey of service to South Africa in humanity," said National spokesperson Mkhuleko Hlengwa.
"Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi, and men and women of integrity who are committed to the freedom and liberation of the oppressed black majority of this country, forged unity in the founding of the IFP.
"And since that day to date, the IFP has been an integral part of the fight for freedom."
Gates at the Prince Mangosuthu Regional Stadium opened early on Sunday morning, as the party marked its Golden Jubilee.

The IFP was founded by the late Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi in March 1975.
Hlengwa said they expect to fill up the 30,000-seat stadium.
"We're expecting the IFP membership, particularly the branches and the constituencies from throughout the country. We have got our friends from around the world, international organizations, the diplomatic core, religious leaders and leaders of business."
