IFP puts to rest claims of leadership dispute
Updated | By Sandile Zikhali
The IFP has denied claims it is dealing with a succession dispute.

The party's been explaining why it has postponed its elective conference for the second time in just under a year, saying it had to do so.
The IFP's Alfred Mncwango says the postponement of the general meeting is because of logistical issues at a branch level. He has dismissed allegations that factions are to blame.
He also says it is not true that party leader, Mangosuthu Buthelezi single-handedly chose his successor.

Mncwango says the decision to have Velenkosini Hlabisa take over from Buthelezi was a unanimous one.
"It is not true that Prince Buthelezi had ever appointed a candidate. The presidential candidate was first nominated by the national executive of the party and was endorsed by the extended national council. So, it was done unanimously" he said.
